    Irrational Emergency

By on February 15, 2019 in See It Here

President Trump couldn’t get his border wall built to protect America because Congress–which represents America– wasn’t able to pass the $5.7 billion funding plan and instead just came up with only $1.37 billion for border fences.

So he’s declaring a national emergency to build the wall and will take money from already-funded programs, such as repairs and upgrades to military bases and the Treasury Forfeiture Fund, which is money seized by the Post Office, Customs and the IRS. This way, he can say to everyone at future MAGA rallies that he delivered the goods. And there will be applause. And he will be a hero. And he likes that.

This is the project that Mexico would pay for. This is the project that began as “a big beautiful concrete wall” that is now being called “steel barriers” with some “fencing” thrown in.

I suggest he also put his name on both sides of the Wall, but Mexico probably wouldn’t pay for that either.

We need to change the words on the Statue of Liberty too.

“We don’t want your tired, your poor or your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. GTF outta here.”
