    Dumb and Dumber

By on November 10, 2021 in See It Here

Political science classes should hold an hour-long session session on current events in the coming week: Does Congress represent you–or the party?

A first grader could answer this but, then again, that’s how the GOP is handling that very issue.
The House passed a $1.2 trillion measure to fix roads and bridges which has been signed by President Biden. 13 Republican House members voted in favor of the measure because their states need some serious attention to infrastructure. And the smart money says the remaining House Republicans could probably have the same concern.
But the responsible and caring House GOP leadership has removed these 13 members from committee assignments as a result of their vote to support a Democratic plan.
Maturity is defined by the House GOP as voting the way their leadership wants–not the way their representative (poor choice of words) states want.
Party over policy. That’s the way things get done.
Democrats will do well to find a road or bridge in GOP House leadership states that need repairs. A first grader will be able to see the problem…and in less than an hour.
